The online portfolio of a Northern Artist

Days of Saddleworth 2012

It’s hard to talk about a place I know so well without using cliches, analogies or romance. But what I will say is, even though I feel like i’ve conquered the valley, the villages & the hills of this hardened edge of the Peak District, there is always some rooftop, or tree or trail that compells me.

You will notice the monument at Pots & Pans plays a big part in my paintings. For me, it’s Oldham’s Statue of Liberty, or our own Ifle Tower. Follows me everywhere, wherever I look, it’s there, right up in the sky, on the horizon & securely placed in my subconsious landscape.
